The Flivver — The Senior Citizen Bus
The Flivver operates Monday through Friday, 10:00AM until
4:00PM, and Sundays for worship services only. Service is suspended on
major holidays. For Flivver service, call 412-519-3955.
The Senior Citizen Bus, the "Flivver," has served seniors and
handicapped citizens of Forest Hills since 1974. Drivers and Board
members are volunteers, contributing their time as a community service.
A charter from the State of Pennsylvania permits operation only within
the Borough. There is no age limit for the physically handicapped, but
seniors should be 55 years of age or older.
The Flivver service relies on contributions to offset
costs (send contributions in care of Forest Hills Community Service,
2071 Ardmore Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15221). The
Flivver is staffed by volunteers (drivers must be 25 years of age or
older with a current driver's license) and new drivers are always
needed. Contact Forest Hills Community Service via the borough office at 412-351-7330 for information on how you can help.
