General Information About Forest Hills Borough
The Borough of Forest Hills, Pennsylvania is located approximately 7
miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Founded on July 29th,
1919, Forest Hills boasts many desirable attributes, including
well-established, family-friendly neighborhoods, beautiful
tree-lined streets, and convenient access to shopping and
cultural activities. The citizens of Forest Hills enjoy
a full calendar of year-round recreational opportunities.
Since it's inception, the Borough has sought to maintain it's natural
assets, dedicating almost one quarter of the land area as public
parks. This committment to green spaces has been recognized
by the National Arbor Day Foundation, which has designated
Forest Hills as a
Tree City USA community for over 20
years.
The borough covers an area of about 1.5
square miles and is 966 feet above sea level.

As of the census of 2000, there are 6,831 people, 3,050 households,
and 1,976 families residing in the borough. The median income

for a family is $56,199.
